South Karana is the southern plain of Antonica, home to the Aviak Village (bird-people settlement) and to roaming griffons and centaurs. The zone sprawls, runs long, and is the stage for more Classic EverQuest memories than almost any other outdoor zone.
Content
- Centaurs — scaling patrols, level 20-28.
- Griffons — level 30-40, fast and hit hard. The classic "watch out for the griff."
- Aviak Village — level 15-25 social birds with their own faction hierarchy.
- Wraiths — ethereal nighttime mobs, some rare and dangerous.
Why it matters
Every EverQuest player remembers the sound of the Karana ambient track. South Karana is where you meet your first player-killable-but-hard griffon and where most Rangers grind 18-28.
