THE LAST CAMP

Vulak'Aerr is the dragon lord of Temple of Veeshan — the Velious-era endgame raid target and the final dragon before the Plane of Time era opens. He holds the Halls of Testing at the deepest point of the Temple, surrounded by his court of named dragons (Lord Yelinak, Aaryonar, Lady Mirenilla, and others). Each of those court dragons is a serious raid encounter in their own right, and a guild that progresses through the Temple is killing Vulak's court before reaching Vulak himself. His kill is the Velious raid capstone, and his drops include components for multiple class Epic 1.0 weapons.

Lore

Vulak'Aerr is one of the eldest of the Veeshan-blood dragons of Velious — older than Yelinak, older than the Skyshrine court, and the only dragon in the Temple of Veeshan whose throne sits in the Halls of Testing rather than the upper court. Canonical lore names him as one of the original founders of the Claws of Veeshan dragon faction and the keeper of the Cycle — the dragon-magic discipline that governs how the Velious dragons reproduce and renew their power. He is allied with the Velious dragon nation broadly and with Veeshan herself in the deeper lore.

The Temple of Veeshan is his standing court, and the named dragon roster of the zone — Aaryonar, Lord Yelinak, Lady Mirenilla, Telkorenar, Druushk — is his retinue. Each of them is a separate raid encounter, and a guild that progresses through the Temple is killing Vulak's court before reaching Vulak himself; the zone is structured as a long campaign of dragon-encounters with Vulak as the final target. Killing him is a faction-defining act: the post-Vulak Velious dragon political map is permanently altered, and the killer-guild is treated as a major actor by the surviving dragon courts of Skyshrine.

Court and lieutenants

The named dragon court of the Temple is one of the most dense raid populations in the era. Aaryonar holds the entry hall; Lord Yelinak holds the upper court; Lady Mirenilla holds the eastern wing; Telkorenar holds the western wing; Druushk holds the central pillar. Each is fightable as a separate raid target with a substantial loot table, and a Temple clearance is therefore a multi-week project rather than a single-night raid. Reaching Vulak's chamber requires substantial progress through this court.

Encounter

Vulak'Aerr is a level 70+ single-spawn at the deepest chamber of the Temple of Veeshan, fightable only by a fully geared 36-54 player raid. His signature mechanics include a hard-hitting dragon melee, an AE that combines fire and cold damage and demands resists for both schools across the entire raid, a death-touch on a recurring timer that requires the raid to rotate the target, and a summons-from-anywhere effect that punishes any caster who tries to maintain distance. The fight is one of the era's hardest raid tank-and-spanks, with the resist-and-rotate discipline being the load-bearing constraint over a 10-20 minute engagement.

Reaching the throne chamber requires clearing most of the named dragon court above; the Temple of Veeshan is a multi-week clearance project for most guilds, not a single-night encounter. The Last Camp tuning may differ — verify before pulling.

Approach

The standard Vulak'Aerr approach is a 36-54 player raid that has progressed through the entire Temple of Veeshan named dragon roster, staging in the Halls of Testing entry corridor before committing to the final chamber pull. Fire and cold resists should be stacked on every group, the death-touch rotation should be planned and assigned in advance, and the cleric line should have backup tanks ready to swap in on the rotation. A standard kill clocks in at twelve to twenty minutes once the chamber pull opens, but the multi-week buildup of clearing the supporting court is the real cost.
