THE LAST CAMP

Aten Ha Ra is the endgame raid boss of Vex Thal — the Luclin-era capstone encounter and the exiled Shissar queen sealed in the deep palace at the heart of the moon. She is the multi-phase final fight of one of the era's longest raid zones. Her loot table is the apex Luclin tier — the gear that defines the Luclin-equipped raider before the PoP-era's outer planes open. The encounter is structured as a sequence of palace court pulls leading to her throne chamber and a multi-phase fight against Aten herself.

Lore

Aten Ha Ra is the exiled queen of the Shissar — the serpent race that once held Kunark before the iksar empire and fled to Luclin after their defeat at the hands of Veeshan-blooded forces. Her court took refuge in the deep palace of Vex Thal at the heart of the moon, and she has held the throne there for the centuries since. She rules over the Akhevan ruins and the Shissar diaspora as a queen-in-exile, her authority secured by the priestly caste rather than by imperial decree. Her counterpart on the moon, Emperor Ssraeshza, holds the parallel Shissar court at the Ssraeshza Temple — the two are estranged but not openly hostile, and the lore implies a long political schism within the post-exile Shissar nation.

In canonical Luclin lore Aten Ha Ra is the more religiously charged of the two Shissar leaders — her court is the priest-caste rather than the imperial-caste — and the palace of Vex Thal is structured as a temple-palace combining both functions. Her Akhevan allies hold the outer ruins, and the descent through Vex Thal is a journey from the Akhevan archaeology of the upper palace to the active Shissar court of the deep chambers. The lore-text drops scattered through the palace explain the schism between Aten and Ssraeshza in fragmentary detail.

Court and lieutenants

The palace of Vex Thal is held by the Shissar priest-caste at every level, with named lieutenants in each major chamber. The Akhevan allied forces hold the outer ruins as a buffer between the palace and the Luclin surface, and the upper Vex Thal archaeology is theirs rather than the Shissar's. Aten's personal court — the Wing of the Queen, the Inner Sanctum guards, the priest-knights — fills the deep palace and forms the layered pull-progression toward her throne chamber. A typical Vex Thal raid week is a series of partial clears building toward a Aten attempt rather than a single descent.

Encounter

Aten Ha Ra is a level 65 single-spawn at the deepest chamber of Vex Thal, fightable only by a fully geared 36-54 player raid that has progressed through the entire palace. The fight is multi-phase: an initial phase where Aten is engaged with her standing guard, a transition phase where the guard is eliminated and Aten triggers a healing-immunity window, and a burn phase where the raid must execute the killing damage before her enrage timer. Her signature mechanics include an AE silence that demands the cleric line have backup interrupt-immunity, a death-touch on a recurring timer, and a summons effect that prevents range-kiting.

Reaching the throne chamber requires a full clear of Vex Thal, which is itself a multi-week raid project — Aten is the payoff at the end of one of the era's longest raid clearance arcs. The Last Camp tuning may differ — verify before pulling.

Approach

The standard Aten Ha Ra approach is a fully geared 36-54 player raid that has cleared the supporting palace court over multiple sessions, staging in the chamber-entry corridor before committing to the multi-phase pull. The death-touch rotation should be planned and assigned in advance, the healing-immunity transition should be drilled in advance with backup tank swaps, and the burn-phase DPS plan should account for the enrage timer with explicit headroom. A standard kill clocks in at fifteen to twenty-five minutes once the chamber pull opens, but the supporting clearance is the real cost.
