THE LAST CAMP
Disclosure

What The Last Camp is, in plain language.

The Last Camp is a personal, non-commercial, not-for-profit fan server built for EverQuest preservation. It is not associated or affiliated in any way with Daybreak Game Company LLC, Sony Online Entertainment, or any current or former rights-holder of the EverQuest property.

Non-commercial operation

No fee is charged for access. The server does not sell items, characters, currency, advantages, cosmetics, or any in-game benefit. There is no in-game store, no donor tier, no donation reward, no subscription, no battle pass. Power and gear are earned in the world.

Donations toward server hosting and maintenance are accepted — they help keep the lights on. They grant no in-game benefit of any kind, ever: no items, no access, no priority, no recognition that affects gameplay. That line is in writing because it stays. A donation channel will be published here once one is wired up; until then, please don’t send anything.

Not affiliated, not endorsed

EverQuest, EQ, the EverQuest logo, all class names, race names, zone names, item names, NPC names, lore, art, and assets remain the intellectual property of their respective rights-holders, including Daybreak Game Company LLC. The Last Camp makes no claim to that IP.

The Last Camp is not endorsed by, sponsored by, or in partnership with Daybreak Game Company. Names and trademarks are used only descriptively, to identify the preservation work being done.

What runs the server

The server is built on the open-source EQEmu project — a community-maintained reimplementation of an EverQuest-compatible server protocol. EQEmu is independent of Daybreak Game Company. The Last Camp's database content is derived from the EQEmu community's shared baseline (PEQ), then hand-tuned by the operator to align with the Al’Kabor / TAKP era through Planes of Power.

The Last Camp client is a Rain of Fear 2 binary players already own a copy of, with community-maintained QoL patches layered on top. The client is not redistributed for the purpose of replacing the original product — it exists only to allow players who already have the client to connect to a private preservation realm.

Why this exists

EverQuest from Classic through Planes of Power is the version of the game many players still consider the canonical era. Live retail moved on; that era is no longer reachable through any official channel. The Last Camp is a preservation effort for that specific cut of the game — small, era-locked, run by one person for a small group of friends and the wider community of players who feel the same way.

If the rights-holders ever bring back an official server in this era, The Last Camp would happily go quiet. Until then, the world stays warm.
