THE LAST CAMP

Earthshaker is the canonical multi-class two-handed blunt fallback — a pre-epic powerhouse for War / Pal / Rng / SK with a proc that hits surrounding mobs. The Last Camp preserves the canonical drop source and item; the manifest carries it as the multi-class fallback weapon when class-specific epic 1.0 chains are out of reach.

This page documents the access path: drop source, the encounter to farm, and whether a quest path exists.

At a glance

Field Value
Reward Earthshaker (two-handed blunt; ground-stomp proc; multi-class)
Quest type Drop / encounter (no canonical quest turn-in)
Recommended level 50+ for the kill; usable from the level the wielder can equip
Solo / group / raid Group / raid for the source encounter
Zones visited Source zone of the named encounter
Time estimate Per-attempt; loot RNG dependent
Prereqs Reach the source zone safely; raid coordination if the source is raid-tier

Reward

Earthshaker is the item. It carries a ground-stomp proc that AE-stuns or AE-damages nearby mobs (proc semantics vary by source). Its real value is the class flexibility: rather than one class's epic, four classes (War / Pal / Rng / SK) can equip Earthshaker as a pre-epic anchor.

The Last Camp items manifest carries Earthshaker explicitly as the multi-class fallback under slug earthshaker with classes War / Pal / Rng / SK. Walkthrough

Step 1 — Identify the source encounter

Earthshaker is a drop, not a quest reward. The canonical source is a named encounter in a high-level outdoor or dungeon zone. Hedge: the exact named varies by source citation — possible canonical source named include high-end giants in Kael / Velious giant zones, or a specific named in Velious raid territory.

On The Last Camp, query the items manifest's droppedBy array for the live drop source (/wiki/items/earthshaker shows the canonical drop source as wired in peq.lootdrop_entries).

Step 2 — Confirm there is no quest path

Several pre-epic and epic-adjacent items have parallel quest paths in canonical EQ. Earthshaker does not — there is no NPC turn-in chain, no reagent recipe, no faction-gated dialog that produces an Earthshaker. The item exists exclusively as a drop.

If you find a quest path on a third-party wiki, verify against the live The Last Camp scripts before believing it. Some sources confuse Earthshaker with similarly-named items that do have quest chains.

Step 3 — Plan the kill

Treat the source encounter as a normal high-level kill: scout the camp, confirm spawn timer, bring the right resists for the named's signature attack. Earthshaker drops are RNG; expect multiple kills per drop.

Step 4 — Loot and equip

Earthshaker is no-drop on most canonical sources — confirm against the live items manifest. If no-drop, the looter is the wielder; if not no-drop, raid loot rules apply.

Final turn-in

There is no turn-in. The chain ends when the wielder equips Earthshaker.

Where Earthshaker sits in pre-epic gearing

For a Warrior or Paladin without their epic 1.0 chain complete, Earthshaker is one of the strongest two-handed options pre-epic. The proc bridges the gap between a mid-tier 2H and the Monsoon / Fiery Defender endgame for epic-having tanks.

Rangers and Shadow Knights in pre-epic builds use Earthshaker as a high-damage 2H option while pursuing Earthcaller / Innoruuk's Curse respectively.

The Last Camp's any-race-class doctrine means a Halfling Warrior, Troll Paladin, or Wood Elf SK all wield Earthshaker identically — there is no race restriction.

Custom race-class adjustments

Earthshaker's class restrict is War / Pal / Rng / SK. The Last Camp does not extend this beyond the canonical four; classes outside the manifest list cannot equip it.

The drop source itself is faction-neutral — the source named is hostile to all comers. No faction grind opens or closes the drop path.

Why Earthshaker matters

Earthshaker is the quintessential pre-epic tank weapon: high damage ratio, AE proc, and four-class flexibility means a single drop slots into whoever needs it next. Guilds running raid loot through pre-epic members typically rotate Earthshaker through several tanks before the corresponding epic 1.0 chains complete.

The fact that the item exists as a drop-only with no quest path is part of its identity — it's the one major tank weapon you cannot earn through faction or chain work. You kill the named, you roll on the loot, you wait if it doesn't drop.

Tips

  • Confirm source against the items manifest. /wiki/items/earthshaker carries the live droppedBy source; third-party wikis may be stale.
  • Multiple kills per drop. Loot RNG is real — plan repeat raids.
  • No quest path. Don't waste time hunting for a turn-in chain; the item is drop-only.
  • Cross-class loot priority. Guilds typically prioritize Earthshaker for pre-epic tanks over post-epic ones.
  • Pair with the right haste belt. Earthshaker's stomp proc benefits from high attack rate — a haste belt or worn haste item maximizes proc opportunity.
  • Useful for off-tank slot. A Ranger with Earthshaker can off-tank ambient mobs in raids while DPS handles the main.
